Donald Dominates to Win Match Play
28/02/2011
Luke Donald upset the top seed and world's #1 ranked player Sunday to win the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship. On a day that tested every facet of his game in wildly changing weather conditions, Luke relied upon the unparalleled performance and comfort of FJ ICON golf shoes customized with his own style through the MyJoys program (black base/black caiman gator accent).
On a bizarre final day in the high desert, which began with snow covering the fairways, Donald pulled ahead for good with a birdie on the par-5 11th and a par on the next hole, eventually wining 3-and-2. Donald played only 89 holes in six matches and never trailed in any of them. In fact, he led after 81 of those holes.
The victory was Donald’s first on the PGA TOUR in just under five years and the third of his career. His last win came in 2006 at The Honda Classic. With the victory, Donald climbs from ninth to a career-high third in the Official World Golf Ranking.
“It’s hard to put into words right now (what this means to me),” Donald said “It certainly is some, I guess, pay back for all the hard work I have done. I have a lot of people to thank.”
Donald needed just 73 holes to reach the final, beating the record of 77 set in 2003. His Accenture Match Play Championship record has improved to 16-10.
"It couldn’t have gone any better — not to get to the 18th hole in any match this week and pretty much go through reasonably stress-free," Donald said. "I played solid this week. It’s nice to get the victory."
D.A. Points Earns First PGA Tour Win
14/02/2011
D.A. Points (SYNR-G #53918 and SciFlex #68115) won the AT&T National Pebble Beach Pro-Am with a 5-under par 67. This is D.A.'s first career victory, earning him a spot in The Masters along with a 2 year PGA Tour exemption. Standing in the fairway on the hardest hole Pebble has to offer, the par 5 14th, Points holed his third shot for eagle giving him a 1 shot lead with 4 to play. Points then holed a 30 foot birdie putt on the par 4 15th to all but assure him the victory. "Pebble Beach may be the most iconic place in America to play golf, and to win here, it's just a dream come true," said Points.
Hunter Mahan (FJ Icon) shot a 66 to finish solo second.
Mark Wilson Wins in a Playoff
7/02/2011

Mark Wilson began the day with a 2 stroke lead in the frost delayed Waste Management Open over fellow FootJoy player Jason Dufner. Dufner (FJ Sport) birdied the famed par 3 16th and the drivable par 4 17th to force a playoff with Wilson. After exchanging pars on the first playoff hole, Wilson emerged from the playoff to win the Waste Management Open for his second victory in only three starts this season. Trusting FJ Icon Style # 52354 and a SciFlex glove, Wilson laid back with his tee shot on the second playoff hole, chose a seven iron approach that set up a nine footer for the win. He converted, making this his fourth career victory on the PGA Tour.
